In collaboration with the Festa del Cinema di Roma, Crescentera organized a series of events to pay tribute to both Gregory Peck and to Rome. The city was enhanced with a spectacular public screening of Roman Holiday in the famous Piazza di Spagna, a location in the film, and an evening was hosted with his children Anthony Peck and Cecilia Peck Voll presenting an intimate portrait of the artist and the man at a special screening of A Conversation with Gregory Peck, a documentary by Barbara Kopple and Cecilia Peck Voll.
The year 2016 marked the Centenary celebration of the birth of Gregory Peck, a cinema legend remembered for his integrity, humanitarian leadership, and for the dignity he brought to the acting profession.
Rome was his favorite location, it is here that he strolled the Villa Borghese Gardens and here that images of Gregory Peck’s and Audrey Hepburn’s exhilarating escape by Vespa through the streets of Rome are woven into the city’s own history. As the first American film to be shot entirely in Rome, Roman Holiday launched the Eternal City onto the world stage as a cultural and cinematic destination in an indelible way. He will forever represent the perfect American gentleman, and his image will always be associated with the love affair Americans have with Italy and its magnificent capital.
